Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect many step lines indicating contour parts of cloth in an expanded state by using plural parallel slight light beams which illuminates the cloth surface at an acute angle. CONSTITUTION:Parallel light is made into striped slit light through a conversion system 13 and the step L1 between slit light beams 21 and 22 which are reflected at the upper side 11a and lower side 11b of the cloth surface is (omega/tantheta) (omega: thickness of the cloth, theta: angle between the cloth surface and light 21). In this case, when the angle theta is set to a small value so that another light beam 23 strikes on the step L1 formed of the light beams 21 and 22, the length L1 increases and the distribution of an image in a relatively large visual field can be detected. Further, when the interval between the intersections of the light beams 21 and 23 and the upper side 11a is made longer than the length L1, the light 23 is prevented from entering the step L and plural steps can be detected without any misrecognition between the light beams 23 and 22 at the top and bottom of the step. Thus, the slit light which is projected at the acute angle to the cloth surface is used to easily detect steps indicating the contour parts of the cloth.
