Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title resin excellent in solubility in various solvents and having high radical curability, by introducing (meth)acryloyl groups into the terminals of a main chain comprising a polymer formed by the urethane formation reaction of a specified diisocyanate compound with a diol compound. CONSTITUTION:A urethane (meth)acrylate of MW of 700-50,000 and formula I [wherein R<1> is a residue of an aliphatic diisocyanate compound or a mixed diisocyanate compound containing at least 50mol.% said compound in the urethane formation reaction, R<2> is a residue of a diisocyanate compound in the urethane formation reaction, X is a residue of a glycerol monomethacrylate and/or a glycerol monoallyl ether or a mixed diol compound containing 30mol.% these compounds in the urethane formation reaction, A is a residue of a compound, A-OH, having one hydroxyl group and at least one (meth)acryloyl group in the molecule in the urethane formation reaction, U is a urethane linkage of formula III, and n is 1-150]. This resin has excellent solubility in various solvents including a noninflammable solvent and a high radical curability, and its cured film is excellent in acid resistance, base resistance, solvent resistance, heat resistance, weathering resistance, adhesion, electrical properties, hardness, etc.
