Abstract

PURPOSE: To suppress the loss by the wear of a titanium substrate by coating the surface of this titanium substrate with titanium nitride. CONSTITUTION: The surface of the titanium substrate which is an ultrasonic vibrator transducer is coated with the titanium nitride of 1 to 5 μ in thickness preferably by an ion plating method. While the shape thereof is arbitrary, a columnar shape having rounded both ends is preferable when the substrate is used as an agitator. This coating is only applied on the both end surfaces. Consequently, the abrasion loss decreases to about 1/10 as compared with the conventional ultrasonic vibrator transducers having no coating and even more, such a phenomenon as the peeling of the titanium nitride with which the substrate is coated does not arise.
