Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the wrinkling of an ink film or the generation of static electricity from occurring, by a method wherein the ink film paid out from a payout roll is fed, under restriction, along an arcuate guide surface of a conductive guide member to a position proximate to and immediately on the upstream side of a recording part. CONSTITUTION:At an upper end part of a cover body 13 of a film cassette 10a, a guide plate 7a having an arcuate 4 guide surface 20 projected to the outside of a casing 11 is provided, and a downstream-side end part of the guide surface 20 is extended to the vicinity of a recording part B. The guide plate 7a is disposed on the side opposite to a thermal head 3a, with respect to a tangent line l1 connecting between a tip part of the thermal head 3a and the outer peripheral surface of a payout roll 5. Therefore, a large back tension is applied to an ink film 4a between the payout roll 5 and the recording part B, thereby preventing the film from being wrinkled. In addition, since the downstream-side end part of the guide surface 20 is extended to the vicinity of the recording part B, the ink film 4a is fed to the recording part B under restriction. The guide plate 7a is formed of a conductive material, whereby static electricity generated when the ink film 4a is slidden on the guide surface 20 can be eliminated.
