Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate maintaining of the pressure of laser medium gas in a laser oscillator always at a constant value by a method wherein the actual gas pressure in the laser oscillator and an instructed gas pressure value which is a reference are compared with each other and the exhaust rate of a gas exhauster is controlled continuously. CONSTITUTION:The actual pressure P2 of laser medium gas in a laser oscillation tube 3 is detected by a gas pressure detector 13 and a gas pressure detection signal 14 is supplied to an arithmetic unit 15. The gas pressure detection signal 14 and a gas pressure instruction signal 17, i.e. the actual pressure P2 of the laser medium gas and the predetermined pressure P1 of the laser medium gas, are compared with each other and processed in the arithmetic unit 15 and an exhaust speed instruction signal 18 is supplied to a gas exhauster 12 in accordance with the ratio between the signals 14 and 17 and the exhaust rate is continuously controlled to be increased or decreased to maintain the pressure of the laser medium gas in the laser oscillation tube 3 always at a constant value. With this constitution, even if the temperature of the laser medium gas is varied, the pressure of the laser medium gas can be controlled to be constant and ripples can be avoided, so that the laser beam output is not influenced by the ripple.
