Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an amphoteric macro molecular flocculant which has good stability in the water and superior dehydrationability of sludge by consisting of (meth)acrylic acid derivative cation monomer and (meth)acrylic acid anion monomer. CONSTITUTION:An amphoteric macro molecular flocculant consists of the following (1), cation monomer unit of 95-80mol.%, and (2), anion monomer unit of 5-20mol.%. (1) is -CH2CR1-CO-AB-N<+>R2(CH3)2X<->, and (2) is -CH2-CR3-COOY. In these formulas, R1 and R2 represent H or CH3, A represents NH or O, B represents -CH2CH2- or -CH2CH2CH2-, X represents halogen such as CH3SO4, Y represents H, Na, K or NH4 and R<2> represents H, CH3 or CH2C6H5. When this flocculant is dissolved 0.2-1wt.% in water and added 0.2-5wt.% of objective sludge or sulfur component, it enables to flocculate the sludge and dehydrate from the generated floc. This flocculant is significantly superior in storage stability, solubility and in the dehydrationability of organic sludge.
