Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of an oil foaming phenomenon by holding down an operating frequency to a prescribed one or below until a discharge-side temperature of a capacity variable type refrigerant compressor exceeds a set value. CONSTITUTION: When an absolute temperature difference between an indoor temperature detected by an indoor temperature sensor 9 and a set temperature is present at the time when a cooling-heating operation switch is made, an operation frequency rises from the lowest frequency 35 Hz at a variable speed of 5 Hz/2 sec. according to a signal from a controller 1 and a cooling-heating operation is started. A refrigerant discharge temperature of a compressor 2 is detected by a temperature sensor 7 and the operation frequency is prohibited from rising to a prescribed frequency 90 Hz or above, according to the signal from the controller 1, until the detected temperature exceeds a set value, e.g. 60 deg.C. When the refrigerant discharge temperature exceeds the set value and lubricating oil in a casing of the compressor 2 reaches an oil temperature at which oil foaming hardl-y occurs, the prohibition on rising to 90 Hz is canceled. Then the operation frequency is let to rise to the highest frequency 105 Hz and an indoor space is cooled-heated quickly.
