Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance injectability of charge between a supporting body and an upper layer, and transferability of them in a lower layer and to enhance image characteristics by incorporating Mg in the lower layer. CONSTITUTION:The photoreceptive member 100 comprises the supporting body 101 made of an Al alloy or the like, and a photoreceptive layer 102 consisting of the lower layer 103 and an upper layer 104 made of a nonmonocrystalline material containing Si as a base and H or/and halogen. The lower layer 103 is made of an inorganic material containing Al, Si, H, and Mg, and has a layer region containing Al, Si, and H in a nonuniform distribution in the layer thickness direction, but a uniform distribution in a plane in parallel to the surface of the supporting body 101, and when needed, Ge, Sn, or an atom for controlling durability or image quality or the like can be added.
