Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition capable of suppressing growth of plants in a state of maintained dark green color by using a herbicide, such as 2-(dimethylphosphinoyl)-2-hydroxyacetic acid, etc., and a compound selected from 9 compounds, including a novel compound and capable of suppressing elongation of weeds in combination. CONSTITUTION:A plant growth regulator composition containing a blend of at least one selected from compounds expressed by formula I [R<1> is H or (substituted)alkyl; R<2> is H, 1-4C alkyl, allyl, propargyl or (halogenated)benzyl] and salts thereof and at least one selected from a novel compound expressed by formula II (R<3> and R4 are 1-3C alkyl; R<5> is H, methyl or halogen) and compounds expressed by formulas III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX and X and salts thereof as an active ingredient. The composition is capable of maintaining plants bodies in dark green color and suppressing growth thereof for a long period without killing the plant bodies. The frequency of mowing lawn can also be reduced.
