Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an ink jet recording sheet having excellent balance between water resistance and light resistance, free of browning and showing clear tones, by incorporating a specified polyallyl-diallylamine derivative into a base or a coated layer provided on the base. CONSTITUTION:A polyallyl-diallylamine derivative of formula (I) is incorporated in a base or a coated layer provided on the base. In the formula, n is 5-10,000. If n is less than 5, water resistance is unsatisfactory, whereas if n is more than 10,000, an aqueous solution prepared by using the derivative has a high viscosity, and is poor in workability. The derivative is ordinarily used in an amount of 0.005-5g/m<2>, preferably, 0.01-4g/m<2>, based on the base. Other than the derivative, the base or the coated layer comprises an inorganic or organic pigment, an adhesive or the like. In the formula, n is 5-10,000, X<-> is a chloride on, bromide ion, iodide ion, nitrate ion, phosphate ion, acetate ion, benzoate ion or p-toluenesulfonate ion, and each of Y and Z is H or a 1-2C alkyl.
