Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of the whole of device, by setting the driving rotating speed of a magneto-optical disk in an erasure operation at linear velocity almost being approximated to the rotating speed of the magneto-optical disk whose maximum value is limited by the plane power of a magneto-optical head and a desired erasure ratio. CONSTITUTION:By setting a mode changeover switch 143 at an erasing state, the magneto-optical head 120 is connected to an erasure circuit 142, and the driving system of a motor 110 is switched, and the rotation of the disk 100 is operated by frequency generating output and the output of a position sensor 130. The rotating speed of the disk 100 at the laser beam position of the head 120 is compared with the output of a reference signal generator 112, and is controlled with a driving circuit 111 so as to be always actual linear velocity. Since the output of the generator 112 in such case is set corresponding to the outermost linear velocity of the disk 100, the rotating speed of the disk 100 can be increased as in the inner periphery of the laser beam position, therefore, the output level of the erasure circuit 142 can keep the output of 1.1 times the peak output of the disk 100 at the time of recording the outermost periphery.
