The present invention relates to a pressure-sensitive adhesive having weak adhesiveness and strong self-adhesiveness for use in adhesive tapes and the like. Conventional adhesive tapes have a high adhesive strength due to their intended use, but the self-adhesive strength (self-adhesion strength) when the pressure-sensitive adhesive layers are bonded together
In many cases, the adhesive strength is almost the same as the adhesive strength described above. According to the results measured by the inventors, for example, natural rubber
The adhesive strength of an adhesive tape with a natural rubber-based pressure-sensitive adhesive layer consisting of 100 parts (by weight) and about 60 parts of alkylphenol resin or petroleum resin is approximately
800~1200g/24mm width, self-adhesion strength is approximately 1050~
1250g/24mm width, and about 60 parts of 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, about 5 parts of butyl acrylate,
The adhesive strength of the adhesive tape provided with an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive layer made of a polymer containing about 30 parts of vinyl acetate and about 5 parts of acrylic acid is about 820 to 980 g/24 mm width,
Its self-adhesive strength was approximately 880 to 900 g/24 mm width. When such an adhesive tape with high adhesive strength is used for binding, for example, the adhesive tape will strongly adhere to the surface that contacts the objects to be bound, and when the adhesive tape is removed from the objects to be bound, the objects will be bound together. A portion of the tape is peeled off along with the adhesive tape, causing damage to the items to be bound and, depending on the item, significantly reducing the commercial value of the item. Examples of such objects to be tied include vegetables. In order to improve these drawbacks, for example, a self-adhesive adhesive that adheres to each other but does not adhere to other things is applied to a limited area on both ends of the base material, with one end on the surface side.
There is adhesive tape for binding that has the other end on the back side and does not have the adhesive in the middle part that contacts the objects to be bound, but the type of objects to be bound, the amount to be bound in one bundle, etc. Different lengths of adhesive tape are required depending on the length of the tape, making the bundling work troublesome and time-consuming, making it difficult for machines to carry out the work smoothly and efficiently. Not only does it require a lot of effort and expense to manufacture and store, but it also does not have a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer in the middle (even if there is a self-adhesive adhesive layer in the middle). ), the adhesive tape tends to move easily, or the objects to be bound tend to fall off, making it impossible to securely and stably bind objects. In addition, adhesive tape for binding is provided with the same self-adhesive adhesive as described above, continuous on one side of the base material and at regular intervals on the other side,
There are adhesive tapes for surface protection that have self-adhesive adhesive on both the front and back sides of the base material, but when items are bound together, the middle part does not adhere to the items as described above, so the adhesive tape may shift. Not only does it move easily and cannot be tied securely and stably, but it also has disadvantages such as a lot of wasted adhesive. Approximately 3 to 40 parts of a polymer compatible with the elastomer and approximately 5 to 30 parts of a tackifier to 100 parts (same parts by weight) of an elastomer such as the butyl rubber of the present invention or a mixed rubber of butyl rubber and natural rubber. This pressure-sensitive adhesive has a moderately weak adhesive force to the adherend, and when pressure-sensitive adhesives are bonded together, the adhesive force to the adherend is weak. When a binding adhesive tape is formed from this pressure-sensitive adhesive and used to bind leafy vegetables, for example, this adhesive tape will weakly adhere to the parts where it comes into contact with the leafy vegetables. Even if the adhesive tape is removed, the vegetables adhere to the adhesive tape and will not be torn off, but the binding can be made strong and stable. To explain an example below, the pressure sensitive adhesive is about 3 to 40 parts of a relatively low molecular weight polymer that is compatible with the elastomer, based on 100 parts of an elastomer such as butyl rubber or a mixed rubber of butyl rubber and natural rubber. The main ingredients are preferably about 5 to 30 parts and about 5 to 30 parts, preferably about 5 to 20 parts of a tackifier with good compatibility with these. Examples of the above polymers include polyisobutylene (molecular weight approximately 7000 to 20000), polybutene (molecular weight approximately 1000 to 10000), and others.
Tackifiers include polyterpenes, rosin ester resins, and other harmless resins that can also be used as food additives, and these can be used alone or in combination.
Can be used in combination with more than one species. The pressure-sensitive adhesive of the above composition forms a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer with weak adhesiveness and low polarity by itself, but when the pressure-sensitive adhesive layers are pressed against each other or after an appropriate period of time has elapsed. It is strongly self-adhesive, and as is clear from the examples, its adhesive strength and self-adhesive strength are significantly different from those of the previously known rubber-based and acrylic-based pressure-sensitive adhesives. In the above composition, the amount of polymer less than about 3 parts can be used, but the initial adhesion strength may be lowered, which may be undesirable. Furthermore, if the amount of the polymer exceeds about 40 parts, the creep property increases, making it difficult to perform the binding function when formed into a binding adhesive tape, etc., for example. If the amount of tackifier is less than about 5 parts, the initial adhesive strength will be insufficient, and if it exceeds about 30 parts, the adhesive strength will increase. If the adhesive tape is stuck too tightly, when the adhesive tape is untied, a part of the item to be bound will be peeled off along with the adhesive tape and damaged. The pressure-sensitive adhesive having the above composition is prepared by adding it to a suitable solvent, for example, a mixed solvent of equal amounts of n-hexane and toluene, to reduce the solid content to 10 to 40%.
(Weight - the same applies hereafter), and can be coated on various known suitable base materials depending on the purpose of use and dried to form an adhesive tape having a predetermined pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. This adhesive tape has weak adhesion over the entire surface of one side of the base material, as well as strong self-adhesiveness, so when it is used for binding, for example, the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer of the adhesive tape is attached to the object to be bound. However, the pressure-sensitive adhesive layers at both ends of the adhesive tape strongly self-adhere to each other to form a secure and strong binding, and the bound adhesive tape will not shift or the bound objects will fall out during handling. In addition, when the bound adhesive tape is removed, since it is not strongly adhered to the bound objects, the adhesive tape will not peel off the bound objects and cause damage. In addition, since there is a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on the entire surface of one side, regardless of the size of the bundle of items (e.g. vegetables), it can be mechanically bound using one type of long adhesive tape wound into a roll. It is easy to use, has extremely high work efficiency, and unlike conventional adhesive binding tapes, there is no need to prepare different adhesive binding tapes depending on the size of the bundle.
It is also extremely advantageous economically. This pressure-sensitive adhesive can be used for adhesive tapes for binding vegetables such as various leafy vegetables and root vegetables, and various fresh flowers, as well as adhesive tapes for binding various articles, protective tapes, packaging tapes, etc. It is something. Examples 1 to 6 Each pressure-sensitive adhesive component blended in the proportions shown is
n-hexane:toluol = 15%
A 1:1 mixed solvent was added, and this was applied to one side of the substrate by a conventional method and dried to form an adhesive tape.
The adhesive strength and self-adhesion strength of each adhesive tape were as indicated.

[Table] The adhesive strength is based on the standard method for adhesive strength of JIS-Z, 1522 (cellophane adhesive tape).A 20 mm wide adhesive tape is pressed onto a stainless steel panel with a roller weighing 2 kg. Resistance value when the part is folded 180 degrees to the panel surface and pulled at a peeling speed of 300 mm/min. Self-adhesive strength is measured by taking a piece of adhesive tape 20 mm wide and about 15 cm long, pasting the adhesive over a length of about 25 mm in the center so that the edges of the opposing tapes do not shift, and then attaching the adhesive to the area with a mass of 1 kg. Press with a roller,
Resistance value when both ends where the adhesive is not bonded are immediately pulled apart in opposite directions and pulled at a speed of 300 mm/min. The initial adhesive strength was determined by touching the smooth tip of a metal rod with a diameter of 5 mm to the surface of the adhesive for 1 second with a load of 100 g under conditions of 20°C and 65% relative humidity.
Resistance value when pulled apart at a speed of 10 mm per second.
