The present invention relates to a self-adhesive binding tape, and more specifically, a self-adhesive binding tape for temporarily binding paper-based documents, newspapers, magazines, etc., into a form convenient for transportation, storage, etc. The present invention relates to a self-adhesive binding tape that has extremely low adhesive strength and high adhesive strength between adhesive surfaces (hereinafter referred to as self-adhesive strength). General adhesive tapes are mainly used for packaging, such as for sealing cardboard boxes. Therefore, in view of the intended use of the adhesive tape, the self-adhesion strength is not so much of an issue, but the adhesive properties between the adhesive surface and the adherend are more of an issue. Therefore, for rubber adhesives, the selection and composition of the rubber elastomer and tackifying resin, and for acrylic adhesives, the selection of monomers used in the copolymer, the selection of the degree of polymerization, and the crosslinking effect. etc. are the main research controls. Such adhesive tapes have extremely high adhesion to the adherend; for example, adhesive tapes with a natural rubber-based pressure-sensitive adhesive layer made of 100 parts by weight of natural rubber and 60 parts by weight of alkylphenol resin or petroleum resin. The adhesive strength (adhesive strength when adhesive tape is pressed onto a stainless steel plate with a load of 2 kg) is approximately
An acrylic pressure-sensitive material having a width of 800 to 1200 g/24 mm and consisting of a copolymer containing 60 parts by weight of 2-ethylhexyl acrylate units, 5 parts by weight of butyl acrylate units, 30 parts by weight of vinyl acetate units, and 5 parts by weight of acrylic acid units. The adhesive strength of the adhesive tape with an adhesive layer is approximately 820 to 980 g/24 mm width (Japanese Patent Application Publication No.
54-96539). Therefore, when such adhesive tape with high adhesive strength is used for binding, the adhesive tape has the following properties:
It adheres strongly on the surface that comes into contact with the objects to be bound, and when the binding adhesive tape is removed from the objects, part of the objects to be bound will be peeled off together with the adhesive tape, damaging the objects. Adhesive tape cannot be used as self-adhesive binding tape. An important property required of this self-adhesive binding tape is that it exhibits extremely weak adhesion to objects to be bound, but exhibits high self-adhesion when the adhesive surfaces are joined together. Recently, adhesive compositions and self-adhesive binding tapes that satisfy the above-mentioned properties to some extent have been proposed, and some of them have been put into practical use for binding raw vegetables, fresh flowers, and the like.
For example, a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition containing an elastomer, a polymer compatible with the elastomer, and a tackifier (Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 1983-96539), a styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer, or a styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer, or a styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer or For elastomers mainly composed of polymers,
Adhesive tape for binding raw vegetables, fresh flowers, etc., in which an adhesive composition containing a tackifier and additives is applied to one side of a water-resistant base material (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 56-26968
Publication No. 2), etc. have been proposed. however,
In these cases, although the self-adhesion strength is satisfactory,
It still has strong adhesion to objects to be bound, and can be used to bind raw vegetables and flowers, but it can be used to bind paper-based documents, newspapers, magazines, etc., as it may cause damage such as peeling the paper. cannot be used. In addition, heat-sensitive self-adhesive tape for binding is made by coating a certain type of elastomer with a resin that is compatible with the elastomer, a C9 petroleum resin, and additives on one side of a water-resistant base material. has been proposed (Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 58-52379). however,
This tape has no adhesive or self-adhesive properties at room temperature. Therefore, when using this tape, the objects to be bound are bound together and adhesive is applied to the ends of the tape. It is necessary to bond the surfaces together and heat them to make them self-adhesive, which has the disadvantage that the binding operation is complicated. In view of these circumstances, the inventors of the present invention have discovered that it can be used to bind not only fresh vegetables and flowers, but also paper-based documents, newspapers, magazines, etc. As a result of intensive research in order to provide a self-adhesive binding tape with self-adhesive strength, we have developed an adhesive composition that is made of an elastomer with a specific composition and a predetermined amount of factis, and the adhesive strength is below a specific value. The inventors also discovered that a tape having a self-adhesive force greater than a certain value can be suitable for the purpose, and based on this knowledge, the present invention was completed. That is, in the present invention, on one side of the base material, (A) styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer 50~
For 100 parts by weight of an elastomer containing 80% by weight and 50-20% by weight of natural rubber, (B) 20-20% by weight of Factis
A tape provided with a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition layer containing 40 parts by weight, the adhesive strength of which is 10 g/10 mm.
Width or less, and adhesive force between adhesive surfaces is 400g/10
The present invention provides a self-adhesive binding tape characterized by having a width of mm or more. The elastomer used as component (A) in the adhesive composition in the tape of the present invention contains a styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer and natural rubber, and is a styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer containing 50% styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer. It is necessary to contain ~80% by weight and 50-20% by weight of natural rubber. If the content of the styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer is less than 50% by weight with respect to the elastomer, the self-adhesive strength will be low and the adhesive strength will be large, and if it exceeds 80% by weight, the self-adhesive strength will be large. I can't get enough grip. In addition to the above-mentioned components, this elastomer may also contain, if desired, a block copolymer having a general structure of the A-B-A type, such as a styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer, polyisobutylene rubber, polyisobutylene rubber, etc. Synthetic rubbers such as isoprene rubber and butyl rubber can be included within the range that does not impair the object of the present invention. The self-adhesive strength of this elastomer varies depending on the type and content ratio of the components contained, but it is usually 50~
The range is 300g/10mm width. What is this self-adhesion force?
Take a piece of adhesive tape with a width of 10 mm and a length of about 15 cm. Apply adhesive to the center of the tape over a length of about 25 mm so that the edges of the opposing tapes do not shift, and roll that part with a roller weighing 2 kg. This is the resistance value when the adhesive is crimped at a speed of 20 mm/min, and then immediately the ends where the adhesive is not joined are pulled apart in opposite directions and pulled at a speed of 20 mm/min. In addition, Factis used as component (B) in the adhesive composition does not increase the adhesive strength of the composition.
It is intended to dramatically increase the self-adhesive strength, and its amount is in the range of 20 to 40 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the elastomer. If this amount is less than 20 parts by weight or exceeds 40 parts by weight, the self-adhesive strength will be too small, which is inappropriate. Examples of this factis include vegetable oils such as rapeseed oil and soybean oil, or fish oils heated and vulcanized with sulfur, those vegetable oils vulcanized at room temperature with sulfur chloride, and those made from fatty acid glycerides. If desired, this adhesive composition may contain, in addition to the above-mentioned essential components, to the extent that it does not impair the purpose of the present invention.
Resins and additives that are compatible with the elastomer may be blended. Examples of resins that can be used in this composition include polyterpenes, rosin esters, petroleum resins, etc. The amount of these resins is based on 100 parts by weight of the elastomer.
It is usually 30 parts by weight or less. If this amount exceeds 30 parts by weight, the adhesive strength will become too large, which is inappropriate. Examples of the base material used in the tape of the present invention include films of polyethylene, polypropylene, unplasticized polyvinyl chloride, polyester, etc., and those having a thickness of usually about 20 to 60 microns are preferably used. Furthermore, this base material may be mixed with a coloring agent or may be colored in a desired color by printing, or information such as the product name of the product to be bound may be displayed. The tape of the present invention is produced by applying a solution of the adhesive composition described above to one side of a base material in accordance with the method used for manufacturing ordinary adhesive tapes.
After volatilizing the solvent and then winding it onto the core,
Manufactured by cutting to desired width. The thickness of the adhesive layer on the base material after drying is 10~
A range of 50μ is appropriate. A solution of the adhesive composition described above can be prepared as follows. First, the elastomer and the fibers, and in some cases the resin, are kneaded using a Banbury mixer or rubber kneading roll to form a homogeneous mixture, and then this mixture is dissolved in an organic solvent such as hexane, toluene, or a mixture thereof to reduce the solid content. Prepare a solution so that the content ranges from 10 to 40% by weight. The self-adhesive binding tape of the present invention thus obtained has a self-adhesive strength of 400 g/10 mm width or more and an adhesive strength of
It must be less than 10g/10mm width. If the self-adhesive strength is less than 400g/10mm width, the binding strength between the adhesive surfaces of the tape will be too weak and it will easily peel off, and if the adhesive strength exceeds 10g/10mm width, it cannot be used for binding papers, etc. It disappears. The adhesive force here refers to the adhesive strength when a 10 mm wide adhesive tape is pressed onto a stainless steel panel using a 2 kg roller, the loose part is folded back 180 degrees to the panel surface, and the tape is pulled apart at a speed of 300 mm/min. Refers to resistance value. The self-adhesive binding tape of the present invention can be used not only for binding raw vegetables and fresh flowers, but also for binding various articles, especially documents mainly made of paper, which has traditionally been difficult to use. It is also effective for binding newspapers, magazines, etc., and has extremely high commercial value. Next, the present invention will be explained in more detail with reference to Examples. The physical properties shown in the examples were measured as follows. (1) Self-adhesion strength: Two sample tapes with a width of 10 mm and a length of 15 cm are pasted together over a distance of 25 mm, and that part is crimped with a roller weighing 2 kg, then both unbonded ends are supported, 20 in the direction of tearing this off.

Toluene was added to this to prepare a solution with a concentration of 30%. The solution thus obtained was applied onto a tape-shaped polypropylene base material and dried to produce a self-adhesive binding tape. The physical properties of this material are shown in the table below. In addition, Factis content 0 parts by weight (A), 20 parts by weight
(B), 40 parts by weight (C), and 60 parts by weight (D) are shown in the drawing as graphs showing the relationship between changes in elastomer ratio and self-adhesion strength. As is clear from this graph, the self-adhesive strength required for self-adhesive binding tape has a fiber content of 20 to 40.
It can be obtained by blending parts by weight.
