Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture meshes which are suitable to extremely high frequencies and very small by using normal knitting technology and a knitting machine by using conductive meshes of synthetic fiber through metallizing, etc., as hybrid meshes. CONSTITUTION: The hybrid meshes 28 are provided on the RF reflecting surface 12 of the reflector 14 of a parabolic antenna 10. The meshes 28 are formed of base meshes 34 and conductive mesh fabric 36 which are fixed onto the meshes 34. The meshes 36 are wire meshes or meshes of metallized synthetic fiber and of proper size for the wavelength of a radio frequency to be reflected. Namely, the meshes are knitting like cloth of about 0.10 inch meshes suitable to frequencies in a range of 5-6 gigahertzs. Consequently, extremely small meshes which are suitable to extremely high frequencies intended in future space technology can be manufactured by using normal knitting technology and a knitting machine.
