Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify the structure by cooling a medium material having a specified physical property with an evaporator of a refrigeration unit below the freezing temperature of an aqueous solution to be frozen to make ice keeping it in direct contact with the aqueous solution to be frozen. CONSTITUTION: A medium material 2 is released into an aqueous solution 5 to be frozen from a blowoff pipe 25 by a medium material pump 22 via an outlet pipe 24. A contact area with the aqueous solution to be frozen is increased in a aqueous solution tank 5 of an aqueous solution to be frozen to keep the medium material in direct contact with the aqueous solution to be frozen so that the aqueous solution to be frozen is frozen at a heat capacity of the medium material 2 to make a large amount of amorphous ice 26. The ice 26 is increased in volume and floats to an upper part of the aqueous solution to be frozen in the tank 5 of the aqueous solution to be frozen but with the specific gravity thereof larger than 1, the medium material 2 stays on the bottom part of the tank 5. The medium material 2 herein used is a fluid that has a physical property in which the specific gravity is larger than the water to make it hard to dissolve into the water with the boiling point larger than the freezing temperature of the aqueous solution. For example, the fluid is R-11(CC13 F) (boiling point of 23.8C), R-113 (CC12 F CC1F2 ) (boiling point of 47.6C) or n- perfluorohexane (CF3 (CF2 )4 CF3 C6 F14 ) (boiling point of 56C).
