Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the workability, when paper is supplied in a relatively small quantity, by measuring the time, during which a switch is pressed, and controlling the lowering time of a bottom plate by the measured result of the time. CONSTITUTION:When a tray down switch is pressed being turned on, a CPU of a printer controller starts a timer counter starting the on-time to be measured thereafter when the switch is turned off, the CPU stops the timer counter feeding a bottom plate lowering instruction to a CPU 42 in a table control part. The CPU 42 drives a lift motor 23 starting a bottom plate 22 to be lowered by the bottom plate lowering instruction from the CPU of the printer controller. Thereafter when a lower limit sensor 45 is turned on, the CPU 42 stops the lift motor 23 and the lowering of the bottom plate 22 but also stops the lift motor 23 even when a lowering stop instruction is received from the CPU of the printer controller before the lower limit sensor 45 is turned on. By the method thus obtained, when the tray down switch is pressed for the time exceeding 1sec, the bottom plate 22 of a large quantity paper feed tray 5 is lowered to the lowering limit but for only 5sec being stopped when the tray down switch is pressed for the time within 1sec.
