Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently remove acidic substances, etc., in exhaust gas by adding a substance capable of rendering a sulfuric acid compd., a sulfide, etc., to substances capable of separately rendering CaO, SiO2 and Al2O3, hydrating them and bringing the hydrated substances into contact with the exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:One or more of substances capable of separately rendering a sulfuric acid compd., a halogen compd., a sulfide and an alkali metal hydroxide are added to substances capable of separately rendering CaO, SiO2 and Al2O3 and they are hydrated. The hydrated substances are brought into contact with exhaust gas to efficiently remove acidic substances such as SO2, NOX and SO3 and other harmful components in the exhaust gas. The hydration is preferably carried out by noncaking hydration or hardening hydration. The hydrated substances are preferably dried as it is or further crushed or ground and compression-molded before they are brought into contact with exhaust gas.
