Abstract

PURPOSE:To stabilize a semiconductor laser emitting power by installing a laser emitting monitor photodiode face-to-face with a head through a disk to record, reproduce and erase. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam is emitted from a semiconductor chip 1, the laser beam converged by a coupling lens 3 is diaphragmed to record, reproduce and erase information on a recording surface 7 by a polarized beam splitter 4 and an objective lens 6. A beam reflected on the recording surface 7 passes through an objective lens 6, and led to an RF signal 8 and a focus tracking servo optical system by the beam splitter 4. A beam transmitting at the recording surface 7 is projected on an emitting light monitor photodiode 9, the photodiode output is fed back to a laser driving circuit 11 through an amplifier 10 and a low-pass filter. Thus, even when there is a returning beam from the recording surface 7, the photodiode can exactly monitor the laser emitting light.
