Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily and economically synthesize a synthetic zeolite at a low cost, by using a specific silicon-containing alkaline aqueous solution as a silica source and carrying out hydrothermal synthesis reaction. CONSTITUTION:Chaff of grains such as rice or barley is made to react with an alkaline aqueous solution of NaOH, KOH, Ca(OH)2, etc., of pH 8-14 and, as necessary, with a trivalent metal compound (e.g. Al, Fe, Ga, Cr or Sc) at 0-300 deg.C to obtain an alkaline aqueous solution containing silicon and, as necessary, a trivalent metal. The solution is used as a silica source and a trivalent metal oxide source and subjected to hydrothermal synthetic reaction in a closed vessel at 80-200 deg.C under autogeneous pressure under heating and stirring.
