Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to form an ultra large span structure by applying a compressive force on a lower chord member after pin jointing of an upper chord member with the top end of a pillar member of the trapezoid beam member, and then by releasing the compressive force in jointing the protruded joint members to both ends of the lower chord member. CONSTITUTION: A trapezoid beam member 2 is formed by shortening the length of both of left and right ends of a lower chord member 4, compared with the length of an upper chord member 3. The upper chord member 3 of the beam member 2 is jointed by a pin with the top end of a pillar member 1. Then, after introducing a prestress to the beam member 2 by applying a compressive force on the lower chord member 4, both of the left and right ends of the lower chord 4 are jointed to the tip of a joint member 9 which is protruded on the pillar member 1. Further, the prestress of the beam member 2 is released. As a result, apparent deflection of the beam member 2 can be reduced due to working of the apparent prestress on the lower chord member 4, and the weight of all the members can also be reduced. Therefore, it is possible to form the ultra large span structure.
