Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition outstanding in storage stability and low-temperature curability, suitable for coating use etc., by incorporating a siloxyl group-contg. specific vinyl polymer with a curing agent reactive with hydroxyl group and a catalyst for hydrolysis of the siloxyl group. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by incorporating (A) a siloxyl group-contg. vinyl polymer prepared by polymerization, in the presence of an anionic polymerization initiator, between A1: 1-100pts.wt. of a siloxyl group-contg. vinyl monomer of formula I [R is 1-4C alkyl, Z is of formula II, III, IV, V (R<1>-R<8> are each monovalent hydrocarbon residue; X is H or CH3; m is 2-5; n is 1-6), etc.] (e.g. 2-trimethylsiloxyethyl methacrylate) and A2: 99-0pts.wt. of a second vinyl monomer capable of random or block copolymerization with the monomer A1 (e.g. styrene) with (B) a curing agent reactive with hydroxyl group (e.g. polyisocyanate) and (C) a catalyst for hydrolysis of the siloxyl group (e.g. phosphoric acid).
