Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled article outstanding in processability, applicability, curability and adhesivity, suitable for use in railroad circuits, by impregnating a glass paper substrate with an epoxy resin blend of specific composition followed by drying. CONSTITUTION:First, a composition is prepared by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. of a urethane-modified epoxy resin derived from reaction between a hydroxyl group-contg. epoxy resin and NCO group-terminated urethane prepolymer with (B) 5-30pts.wt. of a rubber-modified epoxy resin derived from reaction between a COOH group-terminated acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer rubber and epoxy resin, (C) 10-50pts.wt. of a poly N-glycidyl type epoxy resin, (D) such amount of a potential amine curing agent that the active hydrogen equivalent is 0.3-1.5 per equivalent of the whole epoxy group in the final composition (E) 0.2-1wt. times the component D of a urea compound of formula (R<1>-R<3> are each H, lower alkyl, etc., however, at least two of them being lower alkyl) and (F) a solvent. Thence, a glass paper substrate with an average weight of 30-80g/m<2> is impregnated with the above composition followed by drying, thus obtaining the objective prepreg.
