Abstract
PURPOSE:To form a high quality reflection mirror face at high surface accuracy through the use of a molding die which can easily produce polyhedrons and which has a simple structure by tilting the faces of a polyhedron at the same angle of 2 deg.+ or -1 deg. with respect to the reference of a rotating axis. CONSTITUTION:Drafts such as to become smaller in the direction in which a movable side plate 2 moves, that is, in the direction of an arrow D, are given to parts 11A and 13A and its inner periphery, all of which correspond to mirror face parts 11 in a cavity part 10A of the rotating polygon mirror 10 and a boss part 13. However, drafts such as to become larger in the direction of the arrow D are given to the back side of the member 11A and a part 13B facing the side of a fixed side plate 1 for the part 13A. The angle of the drafts is set within a range of 10'-13', using the rotating axis as the reference, that is, using the axial direction of the inner periphery of the member 13A as the reference. On the other hand, comparatively large drafts of 2 deg.+ or -1 deg. are given expecially to the part 11A and the inner periphery of the part 13A. Thus the faces of a reflection mirror and the reference face to which the rotating axis is fixed can be formed of resin at high face accuracy and high dimension accuracy.
