Abstract
PURPOSE:To efficiently enter the radiations from a spot-like radiation source to a fluorescent material and to increase conversion efficiency by packing the fluorescent material into numerous divergent holes generated by plastically forming a base plate having numerous holes to a curved shape. CONSTITUTION:This fluorescent screen is constituted of the curved base plate 1 which is made of colored glass and has the numerous holes of a cone shape and the fluorescent material cones 2 packed into the holes of said base plate. The fluorescent material which is prepd. by calcining powder of, for example, ZnS:Ag is usable. The X-ray 4 radiated from the spot-like X-ray source 3 is entered to the fluorescent material cones 2 after passage in a sample 5. Visible light 6 generated from the fluorescent material cones 2 is reflected partly by the curved base plate and is then entered to a photographic film 7 to expose the photographic film. Since the center of curvature of the base plate 1 is aligned to the spot-like X-ray source 3, X-rays 4 do not pass >=2 fluorescent material cones 2. The resolving power of the conversion image of the input plane is not deteriorated even if the height of the cones 2, i.e., the thickness of the base plate 1 is increased to any size.
