Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the amt. of a solidifying treatment and to decreasing the leaching from a solidified body by incorporating gypsum, slag, acryl stimulant and chloride into titled waste. CONSTITUTION:20-70pts.wt. gypsum such as anhydrous calcium sulfate, dihydrate salt which is the hydrate of calcium sulfate, beta type hemihydrate salt and anhydrous salt, 20-70pts.wt. slag of fine grain sizes among blast furnace slag, converter slag, and electric furnace, 5-40pts.wt. alkali stimulant such as alkali compd. including sodium hydroxide, etc., and ordinary Portland cement and the compd. such as calcium chloride or calcium nitride which itself is soluble in water and forms water insoluble carbonate by reacting with water soluble carbonate are incorporated into the radioactive waste at the equiv. of the content of the water soluble carbon contained in the radioactive waste to be solidified or up to the equiv. times said equiv. The volume of the concd. waste liquid per unit weight of the solidified material is thereby increased and the leaching from the solidified matter is decreased.
