Abstract

PURPOSE:To calibrate gradations by picking up an image of a light distribution pattern formed on a screen by the irradiation of a lighting apparatus by a TV camera, converting its output into gradation data from analog to digital, and arranging a photodetecting means on the screen. CONSTITUTION:The screen 2 with a white diffusion surface is arranged right in front of the lighting apparatus 4. The TV camera 1 is arranged almost at the same position with the lighting apparatus 4 without cutting off projection light to the screen 2 and an image of the light distribution pattern on the screen 2 is picked up and A/D-converted into the gradation data by a computer system 3. Then the data is collated with the output of the photodetecting means 28 provided on the screen surface to give gradations a luminous intensity value, thereby easily obtaining the light distribution pattern of optional luminous intensity.
