Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate measurement of the weight of a laboratory animal with a measuring device, by opening a door of a breeding box bringing an opening of a housing body close to the front of the door thereof to move the animal in the breeding box into the housing body. CONSTITUTION:When a startup switch of a controller is operated for an automatic weight measuring device, a truck is moved a head of a desired breeding box 1 to stop and with an expansion mechanism provided on a mobile support member 26, a housing body 27 stopped approaching the front of the breeding box 1 together with a measuring device 33 and a feeding device 45 to stop. With the retraction of a fluid cylinder 36, a drive out/in fence 14 is moved forward with a rod 38 along a guide bar 15. A laboratory animal driven into the housing body 27 from the breeding box 1 rides on a tray 34 of the measuring device 33 and hence, the weight thereof is measured while the body heat thereof is measured with a thermosensitive wire 35. Upon the end of measuring the weight thereof, the housing body 27 is isolated from the breeding box and then, moved to the subsequent breeding box for the same measuring operation along a rail.
