Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the frictional resistance between sediment and a sediment press feed pipe so as to greatly enhance the press feed efficiency by supporting the sediment press feed pipe by means of a vibration suppressing mechanism, and by providing an ultrasonic wave transmitting device on the outer periphery of the sediment press feed pipe. CONSTITUTION:Ultrasonic wave having a predetermined frequency is generated when an ultrasonic wave transmitting device 14 is energized, and is transmitted through a pedestal plate 16 to a sediment press feed pipe 10 which is accordingly vibrated with the same frequency, resulting in that the contact area between sediment and the inner surface of the press feed pipe 10 is extremely decreased. Even though the inner surface of the press feed pipe 10 has a surface roughness of micron order, the frictional resistance between the sediment and the inner surface of the press feed pipe 10 may be reduced. Since the sediment press feed device 10 is supported by a vibration suppressing mechanism, it is possible to prevent ultrasonic wave from affecting the surroundings.
