Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent cracking and delamination of heat resistant layer during continuous casting by forming the heat resistant layer on surface at molten metal side of an endless belt with textiles of ceramic fiber. CONSTITUTION:On the surface at the molten metal 5 side of the steel plate-made endless belt 1, 11, the textiles of the ceramic of the prescribed thickness of alumina fiber are stuck with heat resistant inorganic adhesive to form heat resistant layer. By this method, the cracking and delamination caused by raising temp. of the adhesive layer at the time of pouring the molten metal can be prevented. Further, as the effect of heat protective property and deforming prevention of the belt are remarkable, the service life of the belt by continuous casting is not shortened and the cast slab having surface characteristic is obtd.
