Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep a safety valve open and continue the combustion of a burner, by a method wherein a timer circuit, continuing the detecting operation of a flame detecting circuit even when a condition that a flame is not detected for an instantaneous period of time after detecting the flame is generated, is provided in the flame detecting circuit. CONSTITUTION:A combustion controller is constituted so that a charging current is conducted through a capacitor 32 for an instantaneous period of time and a transistor 30 is conducted even when a predetermined current is not conducted through a flame rod 28 for an instantaneous period of time and another transistor 29 becomes non-conductive by a method wherein a third timer circuit 34, equipped with a charging circuit 33, consisting of a resistor 31 and a capacitor 32, is incorporated into the combustion controller. When a burner 2 is ignited instantaneously but a predetermined rectified current is not conducted through the flame rod 28 for an instantaneous period of time due to the flickering of flame, deterioration of oxygen concentration or the like and, then, the predetermined rectified current is conducted, a flame detecting circuit 10 is operated forcibly by the third timer circuit 34 for an instantaneous period of time, a solenoid safety valve 1 is kept in an opened condition; thereafter, the burner 2 is ignited instantaneously, the solenoid safety valve 1 is kept in the opened condition by the operation of the flame detecting circuit 10 and a predetermined electromotive force from a thermocouple 5, whereby the combustion in the burner 2 may be continued.
