Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a picture with high definition and no distortion by providing a second memory having a larger storage capacity than that of a first memory, and at the time hard-copying of a fitted-in synthetic image, thinning a video signal stored in the first memory, writing it into a second memory, reading it out, and printing it. CONSTITUTION:A frame memory 8 to store a video signal for one frame and a frame memory 13 having a storage capacity n<2> times as much as that of the memory 8 are provided and a means to thin the video signal stored in the memory 8 to an n/N, to size-reduce it, to write it into the special area of the memory 13, and to fit-in-synthesize the frames of NXN pcs. onto one screen is also provided. The inputted video signal is once stored into the memory 8. When one frame video picture is hard-copied as it is, the video signal is read out of the memory 8 and printed. When the fitted-in synthetic picture is hard-copied, the video signal stored in the memory 8 is thinned to the n/N by a fit-in synthesizing means, size-reduced without generating the distortion of the video image, written in the special area of the memory 13, and from here, the video signal is read out and printed.
