Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the performance and reliability of a process controller by fetching either of selected output signal out of a multi-variable control arithmetic part or a PID control part and calculating of the manipulated variable of a fetching process. CONSTITUTION:When the dynamic characteristics of a process have a change, an operator produces a circuit switch signal to change a multi-variable control arithmetic part 1 to a PID control arithmetic part 2 and chooses the PID control where the stability is assured in a wide working range to stabilize the process. The PID control is changed to the multi-variable control by the switch signal after confirming that the process is satisfactorily stabilized by the PID control at a point near a normal working point. Furthermore no shock is produced by switching actions since a state value memory element of a control system is shared at a manipulated variable position arithmetic part 3.
