NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I {X is formula II-formula IV [R5 and R6 are H, (substituted) alkyl, (substituted) aryl, etc.; R7 and R8 are H, (substituted) alkyl, (substituted) alkoxy, etc.; R10 is H or alkyl]; R1-R4 are H, (substituted) alkyl, (substituted) alkoxy, halogen, nitro, cyano, OH, (substituted) amino, etc.}. EXAMPLE:A compound expressed by formula V. USE:For a pigment for optical information recording media, color image element and ultrafine color-resolving filter for color display. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula VI is subjected to condensation reaction with a compound expressed by the formula X-CH=CH-CHO, preferably in an inert organic solvent (e.g. ethanol) in the presence of an organic base such as piperidine at 20-80 deg.C for 1-5hr.
