Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A phenoxazine compound of formula I (R<1>, R<2> are 1-4C alkyl; R<3> is 1-4C alkyl, aryl; Y is halogen, alkoxy, 1-8C alkyl which may be substituted with an dialkylamino group, aryl, aralkyl). EXAMPLE:10-Mehtoxycarbonyl-3,7-bis(diethylamino)phenoxazine. USE:It is used as a thermally sensitive transfer recording substance. It has high sublimation color-developing speed and develops cyan color of high brightness, deepness and good light resistance. Further, the thermally sensitive transfer recording substance shown high stability and causes no reduction in sublimation color-developing sensitivity, even after long-term storage. PREPARATION:For example, a phenoxazonium chloride of formula II is dissolved in water with heat as subjected to alkaline reduction in the presence of a solvent immiscible with water, then the product is allowed to react with a compound of formula III to give the compound of formula I.
