Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve picture elements without decreasing aperture areas and to obviate the generation of the shorting with counter electrodes by providing spacers for defining the thickness of liquid crystal on blue picture elements. CONSTITUTION:Respective color filters 12 of red, green and blue are provided on a glass substrate 11. The color filters having a high transmittance are used for the blue color filters B. A top layer 14 and ITO 13 are then successively layered and formed. The spacers 15 of a prescribed size are provided only on the blue color filters B of the ITO 13 by a photo litho-dying method. The spacers 15 are dyed to blue and red. Such color liquid crystal display panel is constituted by disposing the glass substrate and a counter substrate 17 having the ITO counter electrodes 16 to face each other and sealing the liquid crystal 18 therein. The adjustment of the deterioration in the blue spectral characteristic is reduced by the spacers 15, by which the degradation of the level of the picture element defined by red and green is obviated and the peeling up of the ITO 13 at the end point of the picture elements is eliminated. An accident such as shorting to the counter electrodes 16 is no longer generated.
