Abstract
PURPOSE:To gradually absorb kinetic energy of a rotary object able to be smoothly damped by providing a groove-shaped orifice, in which a sectional area gradually decreases smaller along the peripheral direction, in the internal wall of a casing having a cylindrical fluid chamber. CONSTITUTION:A rotary piston 5 protrudes in a blade shape from a rotor shaft 2, forming an end face 5a able to rotate and slide on an internal peripheral surface 1a of a casing 1. The casing 1 forms its internal fluid chamber 3 into almost semicylindrical shape to be divided into fluid chambers 3a, 3b by the piston 5. A groove-shaped orifice 7 in a casing internal peripheral surface 1a forms a tapered shape in which both vertical and transverse sectional areas gradually decrease smaller along the clockwise direction between root parts of both side walls 6b, 6c of a fan-shaped fixed partition 6. Accordingly, the vertical sectional area of the orifice 7 for a position of the piston 5, turned in the closkwise direction by the rotary external force, gradually decreases smaller, and a rotary angular speed of the piston decreases but gradually because resistance force of fluid is in an almost fixed value with no rapid decrease, and rotary motion of an external equipment is smoothly and ideally damped.
