Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify rotational torque transmission in either direction by providing in the spline of sleeve a bore having a central axis across the longitudinal axis of the spline and embedding in spline space a clamping member of which the longitudinal axis is offset laterally from the longitudinal axis of the spline. CONSTITUTION: A radial receiving bore 6 is provided within the teeth range of a spline 3 of a sleeve 1. The central axis of the bore is across the longitudinal axis of the teeth. A clamping member is inserted into the bore 6, with the distal end mounted on a spline piece 9. The longitudinal axis of the spline piece 9 is offset from the longitudinal axis of the bore 6. When the clamping member is moved inwardly, a flank 19 of the spline piece 9 contacts a corresponding flank 20 of spline of the bore 2 and rotates relatively with all the flanks in the rotating direction contacted without gutter. Consequently, rotational torque transmission in either direction is easily realized.
