Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve durability of a suspension equipped with a swing arm by making one of connection points between the swing arm and a vehicle body to be relatively rotatable and the other connection point to be displaceable in the fore-and-aft directions. CONSTITUTION:When a body side 7 is fixed for example and if a vertical input is given to a wheel 1, a swing arm 11 swings about a ball joint 33 as shown with broken lines I and II. When a fore-and-aft directional input is given from the wheel side, it is transmitted to rubber bushes 35, 37 via the ball joint 33 and a link 21. As a result, the rubber bushes 35, 37 cope with the input by elastically deforming in the fore-and-aft directions commensurate with the input as shown with broken lines III and IV. Since this mechanism shares the functions of swing movement and elastic deformation with respectively separate nodal points, both durability and ease of deformation characteristic setting are improved.
