Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve driving stability by keeping a rear wheel in a toe-in position linking mobile free the rear-wheel-wise end of upper and lower lateral links to the rear end of a trailing arm, behind a rear wheel support axis, while the chassis-wise ends of the same lateral links are linked mobile free to the rear-wheel-wise end of the chassis, behind a linking point. CONSTITUTION:The front end of a trailing arm 4, which is mounted laterally to a chassis 9, is linked vertically free to the chassis 9 through an elastic body, pliable shuttlewise to the cassis 9. A rear wheel support 11 is secured to the rear end of the trailing arm 4, and the rear-wheel-wise ends of the upper and lower lateral links 5 and 6 are linked mobile free to the rear end of the trailing arm 4 behind a rear wheel support axis 12 of the rear wheel support 11 with axes 5a and 6a. Further, the chassis-wise ends of the same links 5 and 6 are linked mobile free to the chassis 9 with axes 5b and 6b respectively behind a linking point at the rear-wheel-wise end, which makes the links 5 and 6 turn and a wheel 3 set in a toe-in position. Thus, the driving stability of an automobile is improved.
