Abstract

PURPOSE: To not only improve the surface hardness but also maintain the corrosion resistance and noninflammability with respect to wood by a method wherein the wood material is impregnated in a wood reforming agent and said impregnated wood is dried, being transferred to the surface of the wood. CONSTITUTION: Wood reforming agent 2 comprises two types of inorganic salt which is reacted in the wood to form insoluble inorganic compound. One of two types of inorganic salt ion is to generate in the aqueous solution cation ions such as Mg, Ca, Al, Zn, and Ba, etc., on one hand. The other is to form anions such sulfuric acid ion, phosphoric acid, hydrogen phosphoric acid ion and carbonic acid ion, etc., on the other hand. Said two types of inorganic salt are reacted by heat generated when dried, forming insoluble inorganic compound.
