Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily screen only powder having superconductivity from mixed powder in a short time by utilizing Meissner effect retained in a superconductor under action of magnetic force. CONSTITUTION:The mixed powder 1 of a superconductor and a nonsuperconductor is allowed to fall into a vessel 8 filled with a medium 2 cooled at the temp. not higher than critical temp. toward a magnet 5 side. Thereby superconductive powder 4 is repelled by magnetic force of the magnet 5 and falls on the bottom of the side opposite to the magnet 5 because it shows diamagnetism by Meissner effect. Further since nonsuperconductive powder 3 is unaffected by a magnetic field, it falls on the bottom of the magnet 5 side and these are recovered respectively in recovery pipes. Therefore only required powders 3, 4 can be recovered by separately opening valves 6, 7.
