Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a uniform protective film having high surface hardness by forming a protective layer consisting of a mixture composed of a UV curing resin and inorg. matter on a recording film. CONSTITUTION:The previously prepd. mixture 2 composed of the UV curing resin and alumina is coated on a disk-shaped substrate 1 having the recording film 5 on rugged patterns to the same disk shape and a stamper 3 having a flat surface is superposed thereon, then >=10kg load is exerted thereon from above over the entire part of the substrate to force spread the mixture composed of the UV curing resin and the alumina. The mixture 2 composed of the UV curing resin and the alumina is thereafter cured by projecting the UV rays 4 and the stamper 3 is removed. The protective film consisting of the mixture 2 composed of the UV curing resin and the alumina is then formed on the recording film 5 of the substrate. The optical disk having the protective layer of the high surface hardness is thereby obtd.
