Abstract

CONSTITUTION:The small unit 14 is constituted by setting the distance between the centers of the fuel rods 13 constant and bundling a small number of the fuel rods. Plural sets of such small units 14 are so disposed that the distance L1 between the centers of the fuel rods 13 belonging to the respectively different small units 14 and adjacent to each other is larger than the distance L2 between the centers of the fuel rods 13 adjacent to each other within the small units 14. A large water rod 15 having the diameter larger than the fuel rods 13 is disposed near the center of the space formed by these small units 14 and a flow control material F is disposed into the gap formed of the large water rod 15 and the fuel rods 13 in the corner parts of the small units 14 in such a manner as to have the axial center on a straight line connecting the center of the large water rod 15 and the bundle corners. The flow of coolant is thereby uniformized and the deterioration in the thermal characteristic is suppressed.
