Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress the variation of a timer piston in compression cycle by installing an opening/closing means for cutting off a passage for introducing the fuel pressure into a pressure chamber formed on one edge surface side of a timer piston when the pressure in the pressure chamber is over a prescribed value, into said passage for introducing the fuel pressure. CONSTITUTION:A timer piston 28 installed for adjusting the fuel injection timing of a fuel injection pump is fitted in slidable ways in a cylinder 29 formed on a pump housing 1, and connected with a roller ring for supporting a cam roller rolling-contacts a face cam through a ball 27 and a pin 26. On one edge surface of the timer piston 28, a pressure chamber 30 is dividingly formed between a partitioning wall 40 installed in the cylinder 29, and the high pressure oil supplied from an oil feeding pump interlocked with an engine is supplied into the pressure chamber 30 through passage 53, 50, etc. In this case, a stepped fitting hole 41 is formed on the partitioning wall 40, and a valve body 41 which has a throttle passage 46 and is urged towards the pressure chamber 30 is fitted by a spring 45.
