Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the title additive which prevents the deterioration of the quality of a stabilizing fluid due to seawater, cement, etc. mixed therein and the bacterial decay of said fluid, by mixing a monovalent metal salt of an unsaturated carboxylic acid (co)polymer of a relatively low degree of polymerization and a specified compound. CONSTITUTION:The title additive consisting of a monovalent metal salt (A) of an unsaturated carboxylic acid (co)polymer of a degree of polymerization of 5,000 or less, and a compound (B) selected from a monovalent-metal aluminate (e.g., NaAlO3), an oxide of a group II or III metal (e.g., MgO or Al2O3), and a salt of a higher order compound [e.g., sodium alum or potassium trioxalatoaluminate (III)]. This additive can solve the problems of deterioration of the quality of a stabilizing fluid due to seawater, cement, etc. mixed therein and of bacterial decay of said fluid.
