Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A very-high pressure fluid beam 30 is injected vertically to a work support base 10 from a nozzle 28 to cut a work 20 mounted on the work support base 10. The work 20 is closely stuck to the upper face of the work support base 10 to close the openings at the upper ends of many small chambers 18 of the work support base 10. If the work 20 abruptly tends to float from the work support base 10, the insides of the small chambers 18 become a negative pressure in an instant, i.e., the work 20 is sucked to the surface of the work support base 10. The work 20 is firmly held on the upper face of the work support base 10 and is hardly moved, and its cutting dimensional accuracy is improved.
