Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to lessen the dropout and wear of abrasive grains, prolong the service life of a grindstone, and keep it's grinding ability well by using phosphoric acid or phosphate as abrasive binder.
CONSTITUTION: A grindstone whose abrasive grains are strongly bound is obtained by mixing mineral fiber or glass fiber with phosphoric acid or phosphate binder, adding abrasive grains to the mixture, press-forming the resultant and then only drying it without high temperature treatment. As a result the dropout and wear of the abrasive grains are lessened, and the service life is prolonged, which allows the grindstone to keep good grinding ability for a long time.
