Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the size and weight of a vibrating type driving device by constituting the driving source of the device of a vibrating element which vibrates in a planar direction and vibrating elements which are mounted on both end sections of the vibrating element and vibrate in the vertical direction and specifying the vibrating positions of the elements. CONSTITUTION: Driving sources 6-8 are respectively attached to the vertexes of a moving table 1 formed in an equilateral triangle through supporting sections at angular intervals of 120 deg.. The sources 6-8 can move in both forward and reverse directions in their length directions and the source 6 is mounted with a piezoelectric element 6-1 which vibrates in the direction parallel to a plane and piezoelectric elements 6-2 and 6-3 which vibrate in the vertical direction. The element 6 is driven with a voltage so that the vibrating and elongating/ contracting phases of the element 6-1 can become the same as those of the element 6-2 or 6-3 and opposite to those of the element 6-3 or 6-2. Therefore, the source 6 moves leftward or rightward. The other sources 7 and 8 are also constituted in the same way. When a vibrating type driving device is constituted in such a way, the size and weight of the device can be reduced, because the structure is simple and no rotationally driving mechanism is required.
