Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain a measuring accuracy at a high level, by a method wherein a forward bias feeder for preservation is arranged to supply a fine forward bias less than enough for oxidizing and reducing reaction with respect to an electrode and an object material is measured immediately even when the activity of the electrode is preserved for a long time. CONSTITUTION:A main constant voltage source 1 for applying a forward bias voltage for measuring concentration and a constant voltage source 2 for preservation are arranged to supply a forward bias voltage selectively to a working electrode 4 comprising Pt through a selector switch 3. Here, when measuring the concentration of glucose, the switch 3 is operated to connect a voltage 4 to an inversion input terminal 8a of an operational amplifier 8 for current- voltage conversion by switching while a voltage signal of 0V is supplied from a backward bias supply terminal 12 to apply a fine forward bias voltage between the electrodes 4 and 5 with the electrode 5 earthed. Here, when a solution to be measured is dropped on an enzyme electrode, a signal corresponding to the concentration of glucose is outputted. Then, a voltage signal alone corresponding to current is extracted and a primary differentiation is performed to detect a peak value thereof thereby obtaining a glucose concentration signal.
