Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the air flow speed and the air flow rate on the overhang part side and uniformize the discharge distribution of conditioned air on the entire surface of a discharge port by inclining noses opposing along the axial direction of a lateral flow fan to narrow the nose gap positioned on the overhang side. CONSTITUTION:Noses 21 are opposed by forming nose gap 23 on the front surface of a lateral flow fan 2. This nose gap 23 is reduced linearly from a left end part 24 to a right end part 25. When it is assumed that the value of the nose gap 23 at the left end part 24 is h3, and that 23 at the right end part 25 is h4, the relationship between h3 and h4 is h3>h4. By forming the nose gap 23 in this manner, the quantity of air leaking from the nose gap 23 at the right end part 25 where the gap is narrowed is decreased to less than that at the left end part 24, and the discharge quantity of air from the right end part 25 is increased by that much. Accordingly, even at the left side part 24 of the discharge port 6, the air flow speed and the air flow rate of the substantially the same degree as those in other parts are obtained at the left side 24 of the discharge port 6, and hence a uniform discharge distribution is obtained over the entire surface of the discharge port 6.
